Description
Original UK Liberty/United Artists labels of the 1st press.The album was recorded at Olympic Studios, London in mid-1971 and released in October. The album included the future anthem 'Master Of The Universe', written by Dave Brock & Nik Turner. The space travel concept and artwork were part of a collaboration between Barney Bubbles and Robert Calvert. The logbook charts the random travels of space/time Captain RN Calvert and would cement the band as pioneers of Space Rock.
This is the original issue with the Liberty-United Artists label credits, the 24 page booklet on the newsprint paper and the earliest A-1U, B-2U matrices! The Ernest J. Day Group matt foldout poster sleeve is intact & in EX condition, The inter-locking leaves of the poster cover are intact, and in EX condition and the spine is fully readable. The booklet is intact (BUT HAS SMALL SELLOTAPE ON BACK COVER)and in EX condition & the plain inner is intact and in VG+ condition. The records are in visually in EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two very faint spindle markings on each side. The sound reproduction is EX, clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps and no hiss or pops, Overall, a really loud and clear listen which plays really well. The matrix nos. are; UAG 29202, A-1U This is one of the early pressings of the original 1971 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!
