HIGH TIDE - " SEA SHANTIES " , Liberty Records (LBS 83264) Stereo, 1969.
Extremely rare, UK first pressing LP of the classic debut LP by High Tide.
Although generally described as 'Heavy Prog', there's a couple of tracks on this LP that all but laid the blueprint for heavy metal. It still sounds as fresh as ever and like nothing else from it's time IMO.
Original unlaminated gatefold sleeve design, 'blue Liberty' label design and matrix numbers ending in A1 and B1, clearly marking this out as a first pressing.

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and put in a new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner has been retained for originality- see photo)
CONDITION:
VINYL = EX- (No deep scratches, groove damage, excessive surface noise, distortion, etc. Pretty clean labels with only light spindle trails and some very light foxing - see photos. Under a strong direct light, this LP carries a few paper scuffs and a couple of other very light superficial surface marks. Predicatbly, these are far too shallow to sound on playback. Generally the playback is very good and strong, certainly not suffering distortion or muffling that you would associate with over playing, which correlates with the clean labels. Saying that, as this record plays out, there is a bit of occasional faint surface noise audible in some quieter and silent sections, plus the odd faint background crackle from time to time. Most of the louder tracks simply obscure any slight audible imperfgections if they are even there at all. The much quieter track at the end of side 1 though does a loow a little more faint noise to be heard.
Definitely not in museum piece condition, but to my mind these slight imperfections definitely do not ruin the listening experience and as long as you're expecting a a 60s record not some sterile CD reissue, it's still a good example or a very rare original LP. Ready to be enjoyed as originally intended and should sell for a more realistic price than the crazy values premium archive copies are now hitting.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = EXCELLENT (No rips, no tears, no heavy creases, no defacing, or heavy ring wear, etc . Just marked down a fraction for some light normal wear to the edges and corners, a few grubby marks and other very slight signs of previous use - see photos for further clarification)
