Description

Two highly important early jazz sides by the legendary Lieut. Jim Europe's 369th US Infantry 'Hell Fighters' Band, recorded back in New York in March 1919, after their celebrated service and legendary performances in France in WW1. Titles are 'How Ya Gonna Keep 'Em Down On The Farm' with vocal chorus by Noble Sissle and 'Arabian Nights' on vertical-cut Pathe 22080. Jim Europe's contribution to the development of jazz cannot be underestimated but sadly, he was murdered by his drummer just 2 months after these sides were made. Reserve is $60. CONDITION: E-, two short needle runs tick on side 1.
