E+/M-. There is a small, light, silent scuff at the end of s. 1.  S. 2 looks great.  Full gloss. One or two spindle trails.  When played, there are some ticks at the start, invisible and apparently a manufacturing flaw.  There are a few random ticks thereafter as well.  Given the cutting date, it reproduces well with a stereo stylus when played in mono and uses RIAA equalization as with all stereo records.  It's a good transfer job.  In most cases, their origin as 78s is not apparent.  Concientious companies pressed custom vinyl copies of their 78 masters from which to dub as seems the case here. 

Cover.  All corners intact. 2" split along top from spine.  Slightest foredge rough edge. Back liner very light soiling.  1/2" bump at bottom, teeny bump at back foredge.  No ringwear.  Front liner just about M.  Overall E+ cover, mostly due to split. 

In 2007, a test pressing from Milt Gabler's estate sold on Ebay had the dates 3/21/59 and 11/10/59 in the dead wax.

A copy sold on Ebay on August 8,2014 for $600 with the dates 3/21/59 and 3/24/62 in the dead wax.  It claimed to be an authentic U.S. pressing.  It is is not.

The copy offered here is dated 4/11/58 on both sides, almost a full year earlier than the earlist of those above.  It was usual to cut the masters for both sides of an LP on the same or consecutive days.  The last number is clearly an 8, not a 9, when viewed through a magnifying glass.  So what I am offereing is the real first edition, assuming no pressing with an earlier date than this one shows up. The date is etched faintly.  My scanner skills are insufficenct to bring it out. 

Part of the album's content was issued in a 78 rpm set, then on a 10" LP, Commodor FL-20005.  The 12" above is a reissue of the content of the 10" LP to which  4 more Commodore 78 sides by her have been added in their first LP appearance.
