IAN CRAWFORD ROCKIN’ BANDSTAND ACETATE=LOST WEEKEND

 

“Lost Weekend’ was released by Ian Crawford on Leedon . One side of this test acetate is stamped ‘rehearsal’ while the other is stamped ‘programme’. I’ve never heard the original Leedon pressing to know whether what is here is the Leedon or whether maybe it’s a tv show dub recorded beforehand to be mimed to later in front of the cameras.

They both sound similar to me and I’ll refer only to the ‘rehearsal’ side which seems in the better condition. It looks pretty good- maybe around EX but although it doesn’t skip or jump etc, it plays below an EX grading. There’s  background hiss. Also, there are stains on the label (see scan)

The negative side of the music is that there’s an occasional girlie chorus behind the singer. The positives include a stinging guitar solo on a very rare and great rockin’ track.


CONDITION WISE:


MINT: New condition, no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras in superb condition.

EXCELLENT: Slight signs of having been played, no lessening of sound quality. Cover, label, extras may show slight signs of usage.

VERY GOOD: Played quite a few times, no real deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras may show some amount of wear and tear.

GOOD: Showing considerable wear and tear. Reasonable, playable sound. Cover, label, extras may also display considerable deterioration.                                             

FAIR: Sound quality may have deteriorated. Cover, label, extras may also display significant wear and tear.
