IKE & TINA TURNER
IT'S GONNA WORK OUT FINE
SUE 2007 (MONO USA LP)
Yet another hi-octane R&B platter from this famous soulful duo. Tina is at her shriekin', sobbin' best on this atmospheric original LP!
This album has two curiously short tracks, both in the center of each side. These seem to serve best as a general indicator of this album's condition, so hear, non-stop, the ballad "Why Should I" and the aptly-titled "My Man's Crazy," right here:
Condition:
JACKET: Surprisingly nice shape, considering how well-loved down-home R&B albums tended to be by their first owners. Top seam and spine are intact, with wrinkling to spine that does not affect the text. Bottom seam has a 3/4" split at lip edge, with all materials present. Front panel is laminated, and thus escaped the worst aspects of ringwear and its evil twin, rubwear.
Back panel has consistent overall rubwear, but all text and images are crisp and legible. Sticker residue to upper left corner. Two out of four corners are snubbed and scuffed; the other two have light wear but still have something of a point. This is an attractive VG+ sleeve.
VINYL: Lots of luster, with many surface scuffs and scratches. Despite evident rumble, heard in the samples above, this album plays through well, and delivers solid monophonic sound. A cleaning can only upgrade this disc. As is, it's a solid VG.
This is just one of a special collection of great, collectable and musically wonderful 1960s LPs! They're all from the legendary collection of DAVID A. YOUNG! Grab ‘em before they’re gone—you won’t see their likes again!
