"Hello and welcome to our auction of some of the finest R&B, garage, rockabilly, and punk 45's you are likely to see this week. The item you are considering is from the estate of Jim Shaw. As a resident of Detroit and Hamtramck, MI, Jim documented and promoted many seminal local acts such as the Gories, the Hysteric Narcotics and the Vertical Pillows. He was an integral part of the Detroit rock scene since the seventies. Jim's contribution was his wealth of musical knowledge, which he shared with friends all over the world. Myself included. Whether he was hanging out on tour with Fela, kicking around Memphis with the Reigning Sound or partying with the late, great Nathaniel Mayer, he was a positive force in the life of many musicians. Always playing you the most amazing records that you'd never heard before! Now's your chance to contribute to this legacy by spreading this great music even further.
