On offer here is undoubtedly the RAREST LP on the Island label (especially in this condition!!!!) called "Island Bumpers" and is an ORIGINAL 1970 UK UNRELEASED 1st Pressing on the 1st Press 'Textured' White Island label!!!!  THIS LP IS ONE OF THE ALL TIME RAREST LPs YOU WILL EVER SEE - AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  IT IS QUITE LITERALLY THE RAREST LP ON THE ISLAND LABEL - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!!  JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!!  ONLY 50 COPIES (AT THE VERY MOST!) WERE EVER MADE - STRICTLY FOR RADIO STATIONS / MUSIC REVIEWERS ONLY, TO PROMOTE WHAT WAS DUE OUT ON THE ISLAND LABEL IN EARLY 1970!!!!  IT WAS NEVER RELEASED OR RE-PRESSED - AND BARELY ANY CAN POSSIBLY EXIST TODAY (ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION!)!!!!  AND THIS MAKES IT THE ALL TIME RAREST LP ON THE ISLAND LABEL - AND WILL BE ALMOST CERTAINLY YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO OWN IT!!!!

THE BUMPERS MYTH!!!!

As many people are already aware - Island released an LP in October 1970, called 'Bumpers'.  It was a double LP and contained many different tracks from artists on the Island label.  THIS LP IS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT LP AT ALL - AND THIS LP IS DEFINITELY NOT A 'PROMOTIONAL COPY' OF THAT LP, IT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!!!  And this is easy to show.  For example - this LP clearly has printed on the front 'Island Bumpers For Release In April/May' (showing this LP was made in March 1970!), whereas the later LP of a similar name wasnt released until October 1970, which was 7 months later!!!!  Secondly this LP has A1/B1 matrixes which werent used on the later LP!!!!  Thirdly the tracks are completely different!!!!  Fourthly the mixes on some of the existing tracks are different - and as some of them appeared on this LP BEFORE the LPs of the artists were even FINISHED, their are likely to be some RADICAL differences!!!!  Of course - I dont have all the LPs from each artist to hand, but I can tell straight away some of the tracks sound different to those I have heard before.  And lastly the LP is called 'Island Bumpers' and NOT 'Bumpers'.  In fact, the ONLY possible relation between this LP - and the later Double LP released 7 months later, is the name.  Probably someone remembered this LP from 7 months earlier, and simply re-used the name instead!!!!  But BE ASSURED - these LPs are completely UNRELATED to each other!!!!  SO THIS IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LP - BARELY ANY WERE EVER MADE, AND IT IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE RAREST LP ON THE ISLAND LABEL!!!!

AMAZING DIFFERENCES AND RARITY ON THIS UNRELEASED LP ALONE!!!!

1) 'Who Knows Where The Time Goes' is miscredited to 'Sandy Denny' - whereas it should have been 'Fairport Convention'.

2) 'Trouble' by Cat Stevens does NOT appear on any later Island Sampler, and apart from the artists LP - was limited to this UNRELEASED LP only!

3) The Band 'Quintessence' is wrongly printed as 'Quintessance'.

4) Nick Drake is credited as having a forthcoming untitled LP to be released in May on ILPS 9131!  This never happened - the LP was shelved for 6 months and not released until November 1970.  It was eventually called 'Byter Layter' and released on a different Cat number ILPS 9134.

5) 'Heavy Load' by Free does NOT appear on any later Island Sampler, and apart from the artists LP - was limited to this UNRELEASED LP only!

6) Mott The Hoople's forthcoming LP is credited with its original 'STICKY FINGERS' title (ILPS 9119) - but was eventually changed to 'Mad Shadows' instead, as the Rolling Stones were due to release an LP of that name in the near future!

7) 'Worry' by Blodwyn Pig does NOT appear on any later Island Sampler, and apart from the artists LP - was limited to this UNRELEASED LP only!

8) At the time of this UNRELEASED LPs manufacture - 'Spooky Tooth' ILP 9117, 'Fotheringay' ILPS 9125, 'Quintessence' ILPS 9128, 'If' ILPS 9129, 'Fairport Convention' ILPS 9130, and 'Free' ILPS 9120 - all had NO TITLES credited, as these hadnt even been thought of yet!

9) 'Medley - The Lark In The Morning etc.' by Fairport Convention does NOT appear on any later Island Sampler, and apart from the artists LP - was limited to this UNRELEASED LP only!

10) Fairport Convention are credited as having a forthcoming untitled LP to be released in May/June on ILPS 9130!  This never happened - the LP was shelved for 2 months and not released until July 1970.  It was eventually called 'Full House'.

11) Mott The Hoople's 'Sticky Fingers' LP (ILPS 9119) was originally due for release in May 1970.  However, due to the problems in changing the name of the LP (because of the Rolling Stones - it was changed to 'Mad Shadows') - it was heavily delayed, and not released until September 1970 instead!

12) Quintessence are credited as having a forthcoming untitled LP to be released in May/June on ILPS 9128!  This never happened - the LP was shelved for 2 months and not released until July 1970.  It was eventually self titled.

13) 'If' are credited as having a forthcoming untitled LP to be released in May/June on ILPS 9129!  However it was heavily delayed for 4 months, eventually self titled, and not released until September 1970 instead!

14) 'Cat Food' by King Crimson does NOT appear on any later Island Sampler, and apart from the artists LP - was limited to this UNRELEASED LP only!

15) 'Raise The Level Of Your Conscious Mind' by If does NOT appear on any later Island Sampler, and apart from the artists LP - was limited to this UNRELEASED LP only!

16) 'Inside' by Jethro Tull does NOT appear on any later Island Sampler, and apart from the artists LP - was limited to this UNRELEASED LP only!

WHAT AN AMAZING SET OF DIFFERENCES & RARITIES!!!!  AND NOT ONLY DOES THIS MAKE THIS LP THE RAREST LP ON THE ISLAND LABEL - YOU CAN ALSO SEE THAT IT HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MUCH LATER LP OF THE SAME NAME!!!!  ONLY 50 COPIES OF THIS LP WERE EVER MADE (AT THE VERY MOST!) - AND IT REMAINED COMPLETELY UNRELEASED, MAKING IT UNDOUBTEDLY THE ALL TIME RAREST LP ON THE ISLAND LABEL!!!!

NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN BRILLIANT CONDITION - AND HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!!  JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!!  THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1970 UK 'UNRELEASED' ISLAND 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS 'TEXTURED' WHITE ISLAND LABEL, 1ST PRESS 'MACHINE STAMPED' A/B MATRIX ENDINGS, 1ST PRESS INNER SLEEVE, AND 1ST PRESS 'PROMOTIONAL' UNRELEASED COVER!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!!  This is the ORIGINAL Island UK 1st Pressing from 1970 and is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl!!!!  The Cat. No is IDP A1/B1 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Island label (see picture) and is a UK Stereo 1st Pressing (there were NO Monos!)!!!! 

The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO writing, a small pink number sticker on either label, NO wear, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL!!!!  IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!!  The vinyl is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable.  This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 VERY light hairlines, only 2 or 3 MEGA light scufflines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK AND SHINES LIKE NEW!!!!  It is also great to find that the playing of the record is as STUNNING as the visual!!!!  It plays with NO pops, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO jumps, NO sticks, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!!  The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO groovewear and NO distortion either!!!!  The record must gradeVery Good++ if not better!!!!  BRILLIANT RECORD!!!!  Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!!  I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!!  The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press inner sleeve which is in absolutely SUPERB condition!!!!  The ORIGINAL 1st Press 'UNRELEASED' Promotional Cover is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour!), only a few VERY light creases (cover is VERY flat looking!), NO grubbyness, only 2 or 3 ULTRA faint 'age traces', NO annotations, only 1 MEGA faint sticker residue trace in the top left corner (NOT a tear - and very VERY faint indeed!), and NO writing!!!!  The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL!!!!  Even the back of the cover is in BRILLIANT condition with NO grubbyness, NO yellowing, NO rubbing, and NO writing!!!!  The cover must grade Very Good++ if not better!!!!  THIS LP IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE ALL TIME RAREST LP EVER MADE ON THE ISLAND LABEL - AND THE CHANCES OF EVER FINDING ANOTHER ONE AGAIN ARE VIRTUALLY ZERO!!!!  IT WAS NEVER RELEASED, AND ONLY A TINY HANDFUL WERE EVER MADE!!!!  THIS LP SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO  DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
