Description
VPI CLEANED.
This is definitely an original first pressing not a reissue or bootleg! This is a grail Lp of private press Jazz, probably only a few hundred pressed.
Vinyl is totally a modern VG grade, there are scratches, surface marks, hairlines it’s not pretty but plays pretty well for the condition. I’m am not grading conservatively for selling online, it’s VG / G+ not in great condition but it plays well, VPI cleaned twice before play testing all the way through on both sides. The fidelity still sounds amazing comparable to original 50s Blue Note Lps and how they can still sound good with damage. The sound is actually quite clear with no excessive surface noise except in a few places where the scratches produce light pops.
Side 2 has the worst damage (Picture of gnarly scratches in between songs) this makes loud pops at the end of track 1 side 2 and at the beginning of song 2. Amazingly no skips, plays through with loud audible pops, slightly annoying but bearable. There’s about three other places where light pops occur. I’m actually blown away that there really is hardly any noise at the starts of each side and in between songs. Just like an original Blue Note, it looks kinda sorry but plays better than it looks. Anyway, you are buying from a fellow collector of 50s-60s records. I tried my best to explain the condition of the vinyl and playback. If I thought this sounded too terrible I wouldn’t bother listing it and it would be in my record show booth next week and sold cheap.
Cover has wear but isn’t spitting other than about an inch at the bottom middle ( See photos)
Any questions other than “What would you take for this as a buy it now price?” Feel free to reach out.
