Description
Up for bid is the rare original Beatles "Introducing the Beatles" LP on Vee Jay records (VJLP 1062). The first Beatles album in the United States, it was originally scheduled for a July, 1963 release. Because it was the subject of much legal hassle it was finally released in January, 1964, with "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You". In order to prevent a restraining order, Vee Jay re-released the album in February of 1964 with "Ask Me Why" and "Please Please Me" which were previously deleted from the original release. This recording comes with the column back cover. The record has been play-graded and produces a very nice sound. The vinyl is in very good condition with much of the original shine but shows some minor surface scratching which does't affect the sound or playability at all. It comes with the black label surrounded by the colorband and the oval Vee Jay label. Inscribed in the trail-off are the numbers 63-3403 and 6-29-63 which may indicate the date that the record was pressed before it was released in January, 1964. The cover shows a bit of wear on the front and rear. There is a bit of corner wear mostly on the side near the spine with a slight bit of seam splitting at the left side corners. The spine has no split. There is a stamp on the back side that says "inspected by E.Z." It comes with the original plain white dust cover. The record would grade at VG to VG+ as would the cover.
The record will be carefully shipped in a sturdy LP mailer by the USPS via media mail within 1-2 days of receipt of payment. Payment will be due within 7 days of the auction's end.
