Piece Of Mind
EMI 1983
EMA 800
Original 1983 issue in gatefold sleeve without barcode.
Matrix is stamped:
A side EMA 800 A - 2 U with Utopia studios Lyre symbol
B side EMA 800 B - 1 U with Utopia studios Lyre symbol
The sleeve is as near to Mint as I would imagine it is possible to find. The only flaw really is the crease running down the spine that all copies have where the gatefold has been opened. Extremely unusual to find a copy with a readable spine due to this issue but this copy’s spine is excellent.
Overall the sleeve has retained its glossy newness and is an extremely crisp and vibrant copy.
The first issue black card inner with rounded corners is Mint. A flawless example which looks like it was bought yesterday. The record is now kept in a generic white inner to preserve the pristine original.
The vinyl has retained a super glossy sheen and the labels’ colours are deep and vibrant with no spindle marks. There are a couple of hairline marks on the surface of the vinyl which don’t affect play at all and in fact the record plays through beautifully with no background static noticeable even in quieter parts. It plays as a new copy would play and an overall Near Mint grading applies.
An unbelievably well preserved copy of an early classic from this band.
