Description

Vintage Northern Soul and crossover R&B collectors know that many of the best records on the Decca Records label never received the recognition they deserved during their original release runs. This promotional pink label copy of J. T. Carter’s Closer To Your Heart / The Wild Ones (Decca 31785) is a wonderful example of that overlooked mid-century magic — a record that carries the raw energy, emotional vocal delivery, and dance-floor appeal that continues to attract collectors decades later.

This is an original pink label promotional pressing on the Decca label, catalog number 31785. Promo copies like this were distributed to radio stations and industry insiders in limited quantities and are often more difficult to locate than standard commercial pressings, especially in clean collector condition.

Both sides have been professionally ultrasonically cleaned and carefully play tested from beginning to end. The vinyl grades a strong VG+ condition, retaining excellent playback quality with clean audio throughout. This copy plays free from skips, deep scratches, or groove wear that detracts from the listening experience. Expect only the light cosmetic signs of handling typical of a well-preserved vintage 45.

Included with the record:

  • Original Decca company paper sleeve
  • New poly-lined inner sleeve for archival protection
  • New clear poly outer sleeve

Whether you are a serious Northern Soul collector, vintage R&B enthusiast, jukebox owner, DJ, or simply someone searching for authentic mid-century vinyl with character and history, this promotional Decca pressing makes an excellent addition to any collection.

Shipping:
Ships securely packed in a proper 45 RPM mailer with tracking and insurance included. The record will be shipped USPS Ground Advantage, fully insured with tracking.
