It was a blessing being a teenager during the early 50's, listening, dancing and Bopping to the the best of the best.

I take a great deal of pride providing for you, rare, quality, clean and well kept albums that you will be proud to own. I also promptly ship in well sealed, safe containers.

35% of my rare albums have been shipped to the following countries: AUSTRALIA, AUSTRIA, CANADA, DENMARK, ENGLAND, FRANCE, GERMANY, ISRAEL, ITALY, JAPAN, NETHERLANDS, RUSSIA, SPAIN and SWEDEN, with the remaining 65% staying in the UNITED STATES.

Most of the albums you will be viewing are from my 50+ year old collection and are original issues. Sometimes I include albums given to me or purchased from friends or relatives. I do not go to swap meets, garage sales, or thrift stores. I do go to record conventions as time permits. You will be bidding for very rare, original issue and quality albums. Sometime I will list rare re-issues or later pressings. They will be stated as (re) in the listing. I use Goldmine Standard Catalog as a grading guideline and tend to get conservative.

All records are played through prior to listing for accurate grading.

GRADING GUIDELINES!

(NM or NM-) NM records are shiny with no visible defects such as writing, stickers or spindle marks on the labels. The album cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or any signs of human handling. It also will have no ring wear.

(VG+) or (Excellent) May show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK. The cover might be marred by a cutout marking, small hole punch, a cut in the spine or a promotional stamp and even a tiny bit of ring wear.

(VG) Will have more obvious flaws such as lack of gloss, groove wear, light scratches and needle marks. When played there will be surface noise that will not overpower the music overall. Noise in the passages, between songs is common. The cover may have minor seam splits, writing, tape, stickers, ring wear and scuffs.

(VG-) Just a compounding of the VG category. Many obvious flaws but if the record is rare, may very well be worthwhile. I usually do not list records lower than the above grades.

Remember, when you are bidding, most of these records are usually 50+ years old and have been out of print for a very long time. When you consider that, damage, loss, and normal use or wear has reduced the market to the point that few of these wonderful treasures are even available today.

I ship worldwide and accept Paypal, Cashier's check, or personal check. My auctions usually close Saturday or Sunday and I ship the next day (Monday morning) with a delivery confirmation or Customs Declaration. If you are not getting your albums within a few days, check with your post office.

I have shipped over 5,000 albums since 1998 and have never had an album lost or delivered damaged.

Due to the value of my collection, I will help save you shipping fees. I have ordered special album boxes for shipping. All boxes will have four FRAGILE, Phonograph Record stickers. FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION: There is little doubt that this is the Mona Lisa of James Brown's legendary recording career. Please, Please, Please and recorded in 1961 on the King Label 610 in High Fidelity. This is the black 3" Crownless King Label with Silver Print and valued at $1000+ NM in the Goldmine Price Guide. The thick album cover is in excellent condition for being 48 years old. There is no discoloration, ring wear, writing, tears or wrinkles. The liner notes in back are very nice with only the slightest hint of ring wear evident and a black label in the upper right corner. The spine is very nice and upper and lower seams have been neatly repaired in order to protect this most valuable record. There are a few scuffs. A very, very rare album that will be the highlight of anyone's music room. The thick record has retained its glossy look and the labels are very clean, showing just light spindle marks that are barely noticeable. I inspected this gen under a 100 watt light. There were no feelable scratches or deep line grooves, just light surface scratches and scuffs due to normal wear. They did not affect an outstanding listening experience. I played the record three time before listing in order to objectively graded the songs. There were no sticks or skips. There were a few light pops and hisses, mostly between some of the songs. None of them overwhelmed or impacted an outstanding listening experience. The songs include; Side 1, Please Please Please, Chonnie On Chon, Hold My Baby's Hand, I Feel That Old Feeling Coming On, Just Won't Do Right, Baby Cries Over The Ocean, I Don't Know, Tell Me What I Did Wrong. Side 2, Try Me, That Dood It, Begging Begging, I Walked Alone, No No No No, That's When I Lost My Heart, Let's Make It, Love Or A Game. The rarest of all James Brown's albums and the next to the last one in my collection. Based on the Goldmine Guide, the album is graded a very strong VG, the quality of the listening experience VG+ and the record a very strong VG. There is no reserve.
