Supercar lover and showman Jay Kay started Jamiroquai in Manchester during the early nineties, seeing their debut Emergency On Planet Earth receive massive amounts of critical and public acclaim. 

Rock Like Dust Star is his seventh album. The album can be considered as a transition from the beginnings of U.K. acid jazz to a disco-funk band whose songs resemble some of the best moments of disco-era rhythms.

Jay Kay, amante de los coches y showman, formó Jamiroquai en Manchester a principios de la década de los 90. Emergency On Planet Earth fue su álbum de debut por el que recibió la entusiástica acogida tanto de crítica como de público. 

Rock Like Dust Star es el séptimo album en la carrera de Jamiroquai. El disco puede ser considerado como una transición desde los comienzos del acid Jazz en el Reino Unido hacia un sonido con el que la banda de Jay Kay  parece rememorar los mejores momentos y ritmos de la era disco.
