Description
Here we have an ORIGINAL vinyl LP by JEFF BECK. Titled ; "TRUTH" (1965). On the COLUMBIA record label. This is a genuine FIRST PRESSING; RARE & would be valued at £200+ if in MINT condition. This copy is pretty good (Graded at EXCELLENT- by me), so should be worth having anytime.
COLUMBIA RECORDS ; MONO SX 6293 .
CONDITION:-
This is an original "MADE IN GT. BRITAIN" with "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD." & "SOLD IN U.K. SUJECT TO..." on the labels issue; a genuine FIRST PRESSING.
VINYL :- Side A:- Visually; VERY GOOD++ (a couple of minor surface marks). Play graded @ EXCELLENT (great, clear sound throughout). Matrix : XAX 3706-1 (indicating a FIRST PRESSING). Also has 3606 scored/scratched out. Side B:- Visually VERY GOOD++ (light surface marks). Play graded @ EXCELLENT (great overall sound). Matrix : XAX 3707-1 (indicating a FIRST PRESSING). Also has 3607 scored/scratched out.
(Front) LAMINATED SLEEVE :- VERY GOOD++ (some age related ring wear & mild laminate cracking.). (Rear) UNLAMINATED SLEEVE :- VERY GOOD+ (a bit of Age discolouration; it is 55 years old !). SPINE :- EXCELLENT (every word clearly readable; straight & true).
The INNER SLEEVE is the Correct Era, EMI one with sepia photos of contemporary LPs (e.g. Pink Floyd, Beatles,Tyranosaurus Rex, Scaffold etc.). EXCELLENT, but with the track timings written, neatly, in a top right corner (I think it adds to the history, personally).
To emphasise; this is a Very Good++/EXCELLENT- copy of a Rare record. Considering it is 55 years old, it is in very good nick. It retains a remarkably clear & powerful sound throughout; I was surprised at just how good it is. Features the early outings of ROD STEWART on vocals (when he was really good), RON WOOD (Stones & Faces) on Bass as well as a guest spot from JOHN PAUL JONES (Led Zeppelin) on Hammond. OVERALL GRADED @ EXCELLENT- (minus) (pretty near to being a top copy).
