MFSL 1-148

Audiophile 1/2 speed master pressing by Mobile Fidelity Sound labs and one of their best efforts.  When I got this I spent an afternoon in an A/B/C comparison on my VPI-19 turntable listening to this, to a black label original RCA LP, and also to the Mobile Fidelity Gold CD edition. Both my audiophile friend and I agreed that this LP demolished both the original vinyl AND gold disc.  Compared to the RCA pressing, the original vinyl has NO DRUMS (or they were recorded by placing a drum microphone in the studio and the drummer in the parking lot. Compared to the CD the 1/2 speed LP has way more presence and warmth.  If you love this record, this is the way it ought to be heard.
