ULTRA RARE ORIGINAL 1960s B/W 8"x10" UK PRESS PHOTOGRAPH

This is part of a larger collection of original 1960s and 1970s black and white rock photographs featuring such artists as Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. More will be listed on eBay in the next few weeks.

This photograph is NOT a new reproduction, but an original 1960s unframed print.

The rear of this original 1960s print has a glued piece of paper with a typed press synopsis which reads as follows:

"THE RAW TALENT OF JIMI HENDRIX

Negro blues singer Jimi Hendrix is rapidly becoming a big name in the pop world, with raw throaty numbers like "Hey Joe." His style on stage is magnetic, and this picture shows why. Jimi is putting heart and soul into his act at the Blue Moon night club in Cheltenham.

The rear of the print also has a black ink Camera Press Ltd rubber stamp mark and a black ink 27 SEP 1970 rubber stamp mark (indicating that this 1960s live photo was used for a press story following Hendrix's death), as well as blue and black pencil handwritten technical instructions. CONDITION: VERY GOOD+ I'm on much sounder ground grading vinyl, so I'll just describe this as I see it. This 206mm x 253mm black and white photograph would have been developed for use in a press library, and so would have been handled by many people. The left hand edge is feathered with one 6mm tear by the guitar neck. The other three edges are crisp. There are small fold creases in three of the corners. Overall, the photo is clean and bright. The rear of the print has discoloured from its original white and has the writing etc as described above.

All photographs will be placed in a new polythene sleeve, before being carefully packed WITH TWO CARDBOARD STIFFENERS. Please try to recycle the packing cardboard if possible - it might just help to offset the damage done when it was originally manufactured. Alternatively, throw it away and set fire to a couple of old tyres.

Certificates of Posting are obtained for all packets despatched, without exception.

I always strongly recommend that you select the insured option for postage irrespective of the value of the contents.
