ALBUM PLAYED FOR GRADING:

Yes – brilliant! - TOP AUDIO - great sound quality throughout.

This great record plays through with superb 1st press power and clarity. The tones are beautifully defined in this original UK pressing, with a great depth of sound, each channel being clearly defined, with a warm rich sound that is infinitely superior to later pressings. Needless to say there are no obvious sound blemishes, no loud pops, clicks or distortion. Some light occasional surface sound, the sound is clean and crisp, absolutely wonderful. 

Thick quality pressing with the wider 1st pressed grooves means this audio really packs a punch. Strong, undistorted sound the channels are clean and unstressed. The record plays with staggering power, with a little surface sound between the tracks.

Great audio with no obvious interference to distract form the overly enjoyment of this ground breaking record. There is certainly no dominant  interference, and NO loud pops or clicks or Distortion. It really sounds great and plays with great sound separation and clarity! TOP audio,  - NO audio blurring, NO distortion, NO obtrusive background noise, and little sound between the tracks. I will give a detailed account below:

This great sounding 1st stereo pressing starts with a little light static in run ins and intro to 'Who Knows', a relatively loud track that can still be plagued by crackle, hiss and static. Just great clear sound, the track plays superbly with not a single loud click or pop. Again, the quiet intro to 'Machine Gun' also sounds very clear and the whole of the first side really plays with nice clear audio throughout. Any surface sound is quiet and infrequent. 

Great clear audio, there are no pops or clicks, and barely any light occasional static, other than at the very start of the record. A light static tic at the very end.  Incredibly clear bright sound, I could detect very little static and certainly no distortion. I can confirm this whole album plays without a hint of distortion what so ever. Superb. 

'Changes' kicks in side 2. with bright clear audio.  Any background static is far in the background, and doesn't interfere with the music. There is some light static at the very start and thats about it.  'Power of Love' also plays superbly, still with no pops or clicks, and very little detectable static, just three static tics near the end of the track. I'm very happy to say that the same goes for the intro to 'Message to Love'. So often heavily distorted and affected by clicks and hiss, it plays through with clarity and superb sound.  There is some light occasional static, but it is light and I wouldn't say in any way obtrusive. The long outro plays with just crystal clear audio. Even the stunning 'We Gotta Live Together', such a difficult track to find with clear sound, pays superbly. A great audio performance. There is some light static during that quiet intro, but it is very light by any standards. A really great performance. 

A great example of this great vinyl. With the clear and extra loud First cut engineering giving the audio a vibrant sound which cannot be beaten. This is a very rare pressing of BAND OF GYPSYS, with no loud clicks or pops anywhere and certainly other obvious interference. 

Great music with great clarity, I would give this great record an audio grading of EXCELLENT PLUS to NEAR MINT

THE RECORD - Visual Grading 

This is a truly exceptional pressing of BAND OF GYPSYS. A superb piece of glossy vinyl, and a really thick pressing. 

Deep clear grooves that can only be found on the original pressings, this vinyl been barely played. The record has great shine, with no obvious scratches, in daylight it looks unmarked. Under an intense spot light there are some faint inner sleeve storage and sleeve removal marks. 

This is a great example, with clear grooves that deliver absolutely amazing audio clarity.

THE LABELS 

A wonderful set of TRACK Labels. Deep colour with a couple of light spindle traces.  These famous 1st labels are in great condition, with no writing, no scratches, no marks at all. Great all round examples.

THE COVER 

This is a great example of the classic Withdrawn Hendrix album cover. Classic un-laminated 1st press MacNeill withdrawn 'puppet sleeve' with pinched ends, all in great condition. On the rare occasions that these sleeves ever turn up they are nearly always worn out with serious corner & edge wear, stains and ring wear to the back. Not this one! 

The opening edge is square and un frayed. The Spine shows dry little wear, the spine text is totally intact, and is one of the squarest examples I have seen with clearly defined 'Pinched Ends'. Very slight corner rubbing and some creasing. This is a great all round example, with little to fault it.

MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.

FAIR: Fair. It is noticeable that the record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated very noticeably. The cover and contents are showing signs of folding, scuffing of edges etc.
