Description
I have to smile. Usually I list a LP and describe it as unplayed or very close with super clean labels but handling etc. of the vinyl playing surfaces lets it down from its' erstwhile mint status.
This offering is kinda in reverse; yes there is evidence of a handful of plays at the spindle holes which the camera lighting exaggerates by picking up the contrast spindle tracks on the black paper labels. And the tight spindle holes are certainly not as 'raggedy' as the photo shadowing shows.
What is surprising is the condition of the vinyl. Someone obviously gave the flat disc a few spins but general handling and use of the plastic on the turntable has been taken with great care. Under the evil searching desk lamp I really can't see any significant issues with the record. Yes, some scuffs as expected for a 46 years old piece of plastic but that's it. So out of 10 I give it 8.5 at worse for condition. Or maybe should be a 9............?
The 'glossy' matt gatefold sleeve is closed on the left and opens at the right mouth. Is square, clean and solid with no splits, rips, sticker tears or writing. Typically has rubs on the spine ends and a tad of ringwear on the back. Easy to give it 8.5 /10 to keep everything uniform.
The original inner sleeve is as intact and clean as it was at time of birth but decades on has age and glue browning. Is polythene lined which has protected the vinyl (note the original Beatles White Album had black matt inner sleeves with abrasive insides like sandpaper - good call!).
