Description

Vintage autographed lp: JOE MAPHIS - COUNTRY GUITAR GOES ON THE JIMMY DEAN SHOW - Starday Records, SLP 373, mono, 12 tracks, released in 1966; includes the original Starday inner ad sleeve. AUTOGRAPHED on the back cover: "Ida & Norm - It's always good to see you! - Love, Joe and Rosie". Tracks include: Dixie Guitar/Seasons Of My Heart/Y' All Come/Window Up Above/Bonaparte's Retreat/Tennessee Guitar Polka/Cannon Ball Guitar/Under The Double Eagle/Bury Me Beneath The Willow/Wildwood Flower/Maybelle/Columbus Stockade Blues.
Joe Maphis started as a session musician who played on Ricky Nelson's first record, Stuart Hamblin, Tex Ritter, and others, and also created the soundtracks for the films "The FBI Story" and "Thunder Road". He and Rose Lee were regulars on the Los Angeles TV program "Town Hall Party Show" for 11 years. Maphis played Mosrite guitars, and he is known as the "King of the Strings" - he plays shredding country rockabilly; he and Rose Lee were a big part of the Bakersfield country and rockabilly scene of the late 1950's to 1960's.
Condition: VG/G+ (vinyl still has some gloss, with some minor scuffing and a few light scratches which I can't feel with a thumbnail, and which cause only some scattered minor background; labels are clean; jacket has rubbing and a small scar to cover; top and bottom edges are completely split; back cover has a 2-inch spot causing smearing to the signature).
(Country, Western, Swing, Guitar, Vocals, Duo, Signed, Autographed, Rockabilly, Bakersfield, 1960's, Music, Entertainment Memorabilia, Collectibles, LPs, Albums, Vintage Vinyl).

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING:

Non-media items have the shipping cost noted in the auction, but we offer FREE SHIPPING TO U.S. CUSTOMERS ON ALL MEDIA ITEMS - that means that the auction price includes your shipping costs - this free shipping applies to books & magazines (price includes $3-$5 media mail shipping), postcards, photos, booklets & pamphlets (price includes $1.50-$3, 1st class or media mail shipping), record albums (7"s/45s include $3.00 1st class shipping; 10" and LPs include $3-$5 media mail shipping), cassettes, reel tapes, and CDs (includes $2 to $4, 1st class or mm).
REGARDING IMAGE QUALITY: Some of our older listings have images of poor quality; a few months ago Ebay changed their image size policies, and I was forced to automatically enlarge the images for all of last years' remaining items, which caused them to be grainy and blurry.
INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS - WE SHIP WORLDWIDE - please contact me prior to bidding so I can determine Airmail shipping rates for you, and we are always happy to combine multiple items.

WE NEVER USE STOCK PHOTOS - all images are of actual items. WE ALMOST ALWAYS USE MULTIPLE IMAGES. We grade all items conservatively, and when grading record albums we follow the Goldmine Record Guide. Please see our other Ebay auctions for many used, odd, rare and collectible books and records, paper & ephemera, and more. Thank you!
