Description
For auction is JOHN COLTRANE/ARCHIE SHEPP "New Thing At Newport," on Impulse A-94, MONO, Promo, Gatefold, 1966.
SOUND: NM/Mint
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Outstandingly solid, clean and clear sound! The only thing that keeps it from Mint is a single "tic" heard on side B. That's it!
VINYL: NM
The vinyl is lovely. Aside from very faint scuffs or smudges from the sleeve, I see nothing amiss. Dead wax both sides has "Van Gelder" stamp. The white "promo' variety labels are bright and clean, with a tiny bit of spindle wear.
JACKET: NM
The jacket is amazing! Edges and spine are in pristine condition. Corners are great, with a small bump on the lower left. Laminated front and back are things of beauty! The gatefold cover so newish, it won't stay open on its own! Inside gatefold is very clean and unmarked, with only the slightest bit of routine aging.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
This record is insane! No reserve, bidding starts at $25.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
