Walls and Bridges was recorded during John Lennon's infamous "lost weekend," as he exiled himself in California during a separation from Yoko Ono.
Lennon's personal life was scattered at the time , so it isn't surprising that Walls and Bridges is a scattered itself, containing equal amounts of brilliance and standards.
Falling between the two extremes was the bouncy Elton John duet "Whatever Gets You Thru the Night" whose bright surface was replicated throughout the record, particularly on rockers like "What You Got" but also on enjoyable pop songs like "Old Dirt Road."
However, the best moments on Walls and Bridges come when Lennon is more open with his emotions, like on "Going Down on Love," "Scared", "Steel and Glass," or the beautiful, soaring "No. 9 Dream."
Side 1:
Going Down On Love (3:53)
Whatever Gets You Thru The Night (3:25)

LABELS: MINT
No spindle traces or signs of play at all
VINYL Visual: MINT/MINT-
Pristine factory-fresh playing surfaces which shine like new and are unmarked (save for one mega light hairline on 'Steel And Glass' which has no audio impact)
VINYL Audio: MINT-
Unplayed (before my play-check) - the audio is practically flawless throughout with just one or two incredibly minor light background 'ticks' - nothing really and barely worth a mention.
This is a beautifully produced and engineered record with a gorgeous deep, rich and warm sound which has amazingly remained unplayed since it's 1974 release
SLEEVE: NEAR MINT
The delicate cover has been (very neatly) reinforced with clear tape on the central fold-out section but there is no damage at all that I can see (just a precaution by the original owner) otherwise, the cover is practically as-new
INNER SLEEVE: MINT
The first issue inner, which has square cut top corners and opening thumb notch is clean and unmarked with no seam splits
BOOKLET: MINT
Again, clean and fresh with no signs of ever being handled or thumbed-through
