Description

JOHN PATTON – ALONG CAME JOHN – BLUE NOTE BLP 4130 – VG+/M- - VAN GELDER – EAR – NEW YORK USA - MONO

This is “Big” John Patton’s first session of his own and was recorded on April 5, 1063 and features “Big” John Patton on organ, accompanied by Fred Jackson and Harold Vick on tenors, Grant Green on guitar and Ben Dixon on drums. SIDE 1: THE SILVER METER; I’LL NEVER BE FREE and SPIFFY DIFFY. SIDE 2: ALONG CAME JOHN; GEE GEE and PIG FOOT. The label has “New York, USA” printed on it. “VAN GELDER” is stamped on both sides of the blank vinyl, as we as the “EAR”. This is a MONO Recording.

I have rated this LP as VG+ for the vinyl and M- for the record jacket. There are a few very fine marks on the vinyl, which keeps it from getting a M- rating. There is no sign of wear in the spindle hole and there are a couple of marks around it. The record jacket is rated M-, as it is in excellent condition, with little or no sign or wear and no taped seams. The address on the record jacket is 43 West 61st. St., New York 23”. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.
