From Dan Malan's COMPLETE GUIDE TO CLASSICS COLLECTING, Volume 1, published in 1991(more than twenty years ago): "In 1958, the next wave of CI A/V items began, the LP era. From 1958-1960, they (Gilberton) came out with a new album every Christmas. The first LP was the JUNIOR LP, with Robert Q. Lewis narrating 12 JRs: 502, 504, 505, 507, 509, 512, 513, 514, 520, 524, 531, and 535. The in 1959 came 'SPACE STORIES AND SOUNDS,' with Bill Stern narrating CI#s 124, 133, 138 & 144. I do not know what JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH has to do with space, so we just call it the Sci-Fi LP....This early LP has 5-10 known copies. It has been selling in the $100-$300 range." However, you are buying a very rare LP that is essentially a reprint of Space Stories and Sounds called A JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH narrated by Bill Stern, adapted by Roberta Strauss, music by Bill Simon, and manufactured by MGM Leo the Lion Records with no date of printing listed.

1- A JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH by JULES VERNE: "'Go down the crater of Sneffels...brave traveler and you will come to the center of the Earth.' 4- THE WAR OF THE WORLDS- "Martians land on Earth and begin destroying everything in sight. The citizens of London fight back bravely, but the monstrous tripods seem to be indestructible. Aid comes from the strangest ally of man!"
