Big Brother & The Holding Company's 1968 Cheap Thrills original Columbia records two eye 360 Sound label AUTHENTIC 1968 US first pressing variant with cover art by Robert Crumb.
One word for this record....Staggering.
Features "Piece Of my Heart" "Ball And Chain" "Combination Of The Two" and the hauntingly beautiful and psychedelic drenched "Summertime".
The breakout record for the one and only Janis Joplin no female singer has come close to what how dominant Janis was in rock and roll music.
It has the incorrect “Summertime” Gershwin credit on the cover as well as the “Big Mama” one.
Side One: XSM 137375-1E stamped
Side Two: XSM 137375 IB etched
Track A3 is incorrectly credited to Gershwin Bros. on the front cover, though the label correctly credits George Gershwin and DuBose Heyward.
Track A4 writing is co-credited to "Jerry Raganov". his name is spelled correctly on the label
Track B3 is credited to W. M. Thornton on the label, and "Big Mama" Thornton on the front cover.
I bought this record when it was released.
The record grades Excellent+ with just some very light wispy marks nothing deep whatsoever.
The incredible looking gatefold record cover is grades Excellent+ the gatefold inner is Near Mint with just a tiny chip (see scans)....The spine is fully legible.
I've been collecting records for over 55 years now and this album is from my personal collection.
