Band of Gipsies
1970 Track 2406 002
Condition
Record: VG+ as quite a few spindle marks (android has been very kind, they are more visible in bright light, but really not anything to worry about) and couple of marks on power of soul (nice loud track so no real issue). Nice clear audio and cautiously graded. Until I finally got a true proper NM (ie not what is normally sold as NM eBay) this was my personal copy and believe me I'm really fussy. Any other witness marks are just light paper marks from inner sleeve and only really evident under super bright LED lghts (which make everything look marked). Sleeve: VG+ to Near EX with a little little ringwear and of course unlaminated so remarkable that it still looks this good.
I use record collector grading but also add a + and - where necessary since their grading standard can be too simplistic.
Mint (M): The record is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.; Please note I normally use Near Mint since unless sealed there will always be a minor imperfection!
Excellent (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
Fair (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Poor (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
Bad (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
