Description
PLEASE READ ALL THE DESCRIPTION
This is my own copy of Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland 2x Vinyl LPs. It is a 1972 repress on Track Records with white writing on the sleeve and A/D and B/C sides on the records.
THE SLEEVE
The sleeve would be VG but in the 1970s I cut out the picture of Hendrix to stick on the wall in my student accommodation. I have replaced it with a piece of grey card. I have therefore graded the sleeve as G+. There is no lifting of the laminate and the spine is fully intact. The photos on the cover are clear and bright. There is a crease to the bottom right of the sleeve and the top left of the back. Please see the photos as they are part of the description.
THE RECORDS
The matrices on each side are:
Side A 61300##8 A//1 1 1 4
Side B 61300#9 A#//1 1 2
Side C 613009 B//2 420 1 1 2
Side D 613008 B (upside down triangle) 2 420 1 2 1
The # sign means a number/letter scratched out. The 8 and 9 on side A and B are hand etched.
The records have surface scratches that are mainly not too deep but they play with some crackle on all sides. There are no skips and all sides play through fine. There are spindle marks on all sides. I play graded the records on my Vintage Pioneer PL112D deck with a Shure M55E cartridge which tends to pick up noise more than modern cartridges.
Side A (G+) it plays with significant crackles and the odd click, more noticeable in quieter passages and between tracks. It is still a reasonable listen, particularly the louder tracks where the noise is not as noticeable.
Side B (G+ to VG) it plays with crackles and the odd click, more noticeable between tracks. It is still a good listen, particularly the louder tracks where the noise is not as noticeable. Some tracks have less noise and would be graded VG but other tracks have more noise so bring the overall grade down.
Side C (VG- to VG) it plays with some crackles but no clicks, mainly noticeable between tracks. It is still a good listen, particularly the louder tracks where the noise is not as noticeable. Some tracks would be VG but other tracks have more noise so bring the overall grade down.
Side D (VG- to VG) it plays with some crackles and the odd click, mainly noticeable between tracks. It is still a good listen, particularly the louder tracks where the noise is not as noticeable. Some tracks are VG but other tracks have more noise so bring the overall grade down.
If you are looking for a perfect record this is not for you but for that you would pay significantly more. I have tried to be as accurate in the description as I can be.
