Description
Electric Ladyland was the 3rd and final album by "The Jimi Hendrix Experience". It was first released in September 1968 in the US on 'Reprise Records' and October 1968 on 'Track Record' in the UK. The album is a two record set in a gatefold cover.
This album is a 1st pressing of the first UK release. Radical at the time, the UK cover caused controversy, with some outlets refusing to display it. Often, it was sold 'brown bagged', like Lennon's "Two Virgins" album of the same period.

Album Notes:
This UK issue was mastered, produced, and distributed for Track by Polydor, who branded subsequent UK releases after the demise of Track.
Records are auto-coupled, as Disc 1: Sides A/D and Disc 2: Sides B/C, consistent with early UK issues. The space between the 'Disk' designation and title on the label indicates a 1st pressing.
The gatefold cover, 'hi-gloss' laminated inside and out was designed by David King. It is a one-piece front/back spread, with the 'naked ladies' photo by David Montgomery. The lamination on Track issues was poor, resulting in bubbling, creasing, and de-lamination.
The early US mastering does not capture the same 'hi-fidelity' qualities found on this UK issue.

Grading Criteria:
I try to describe the album as accurately as possible to ensure you will be happy with your purchase. Everyone grades a little differently, and I tend to be conservative when grading. I use the following criteria:
- (M) or (N) Mint, New, shiny, never played.
- (NM) Near Mint. Like new, possibly played, no visible signs of wear or damage.
- (EX) or (VG++) Excellent, Very Good Plus Plus. May have light marks, played a few times, but low in surface noise or no surface noise.
- (VG+) Very Good Plus. Has been played more times than (EX), has more marks and surface noise, doesn't skip.
- (VG) Very Good (G+) Good Plus.Has been played many times, may be more surface noise and slight popping, but shouldn't skip while playing.
- (G) Good. Considerable wear with abrasions and scratching, but still playable.
