Well stored and carefully handled copy of this Hendrix classic, 73 Polydor double album re-issue Clean sharp sound, glossy laminated sleeve with sharp edges, shiny glossy vinyl - lovely copy - vinyl inspected under bright light with a magnifying glass prior to putting online - owned since new
Released in 1968 and Hendrix’s most commercial album. Despite confounding critics on its release, it has since been viewed as Hendrix's best work. It has been featured on many greatest-album lists, including Q magazine's 2003 list of the 100 greatest albums and Rolling Stone's 2020 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, on which it was ranked 53rd. Track Records used its art department, which produced a cover image by photographer David Montgomery, who also shot the inside cover portrait of Hendrix. Hendrix expressed initial displeasure and surprise with this "naked lady" cover (but later told Rolling Stone Magazine that he "dug it anyway") The cover was banned by several record dealers as "pornographic" while others sold it with the gatefold cover turned inside out.

I have tried to be honest and transparent the photographs form part of the description and are of the actual album. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I have good feedback (and positive comments) as both a buyer and seller, so you can buy with confidence. I am a collector of 47+ years the few records I sell are primarily either the result of upgrades, duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again as this is. If anything is not as expected (or should you not agree with my grading) please contact me straight away, and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument.
I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition and still wrapped/sealed.
NM- has been opened but rarely played - no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite some surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
