THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE - 'ELECTRIC LADYLAND'
This great sounding 1968 1st UK pressing of the group's classic final album is a 2-LP set on Track Records: 613008/9
Disc 1 (sides A & D)
Matrices: 613008 (corrected) A//1 & 613008 (corrected) B//1
Vinyl weight: 147g
Disc 2 (sides B & C)
Matrices: 612009 (corrected) A//1 & 613009 B (hand-etched) //1
Vinyl weight: 143g
Housed in fully laminated 'Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd' printed gatefold cover with original poly-lined inner-sleeves.
Interestingly, the text inside the gatefold has a significant shade of blue, especially on the small type towards the lower edge. This was caused by incorrect setting at the printers and was the cause of the pure blue text on the other cover variant.
Disc: 1. NEAR MINT Disc 2. EXCELLENT +
Both discs are in exceptional condition. Disc 1 is pristine with just a single spindle trail on the side 1 label only and is totally unmarked in daylight with just a couple of wispy paper marks beneath halogen light. Disc 2 has a small handful of spindle trails around each label but also has clean, deep-gloss playing surfaces with similar harmless mark beneath strong light. There are no scratches on either disc. Audibly both are outstanding with no trace of any groove/playwear, clicks, pops, jumps or any other such distractions. In fact, apart from a touch of low-level vinyl backgournd on the quiet opening of track 1, side 1, there is nothing to fault on this keeper set.
Cover: VERY GOOD +
A respectable and rare example of this infamous cover which mainly bears some moderate storage/shelf wear rubbing to the outer panels. There is a bend running upwards from the lower edge to halfway up the spine but no further significant signs of wear elsewhere. Inside, both panels are unmarked & unworn with a sparkling high-gloss shine. There is slight shelfwear to the lower seam but all seams are intact and the unworded spine is fully laminated and unworn.
