Listed is overseas highway 3 lp record lot and 3 cds. miles away lp in near mint condition, prism of soul lp sealed, and prism of soul lp opened. also prism of soul cd sealed. There are two versions of the rare Inner trance cd included In this listing. one of the original 200 press opened cds in near mint condition with booklet. The other inner trance cd is sealed. the only difference in the two cds is one has an extra track sleepwalk and only 90 were made. it was really just for locals, band members, family, friends, key West memories, and sleepwalk is not on the inner trance lp. it’s a very rare cd. it was never meant to be sold. The extra track is a vintage recording of sleepwalk performed by drummer Jimmy Dean playing guitar, Pauli walterson of the original key west cavemen band plays the drums, Johnny king is on bass guitar, and John nunez of the John Henry band on organ. it’s a really cool version of the song with dean playing on a vox super beatle amplifier with lots of tremolo, and vibrato. It stays in my head for a good day or two after hearing its almost haunting. The 150 numbered inner trance lps from 1999 with the bands rarest vintage tracks from 69 to 77 will be released march of 26 at the request of the bass players family and a oath promised by band members before the passing of Lenny Perez in 2000.. and only the inner trance two cds and cover of the lp are to be sold here.he was a visionary guru and had his reasons. the inner trance cd has most of the rare cuts except the 5 minute track sunshine maker and notes out of space. The CD has the rare salvaged organ track cinnamon from 1969 with Perez, dean, jk jack Anderson and Ruben Hernandez early days with Jimmy Dean and the undertakers that played mostly at the Monroe county beach now Higgs beach for the weekend hippie gatherings and local parties and dances. The same line up players would change the name to the tombstones in 1969 and then to overseas highway with only Dean and Perez from the original line up then bring in king. all members meant in grade school and high school.

Rare 8 millimeter tape still shots from the beach weekend gatherings are Seen in a few of the last photos in this listing with the pier and ocean behind us in 1969. the band stand podiums are still there to this day. Cinnamon is short a one minute 12 second long gem only half the song was able to be salvaged but is still a beautiful psychedelic acid induced carnival piece that will stay in your head. created behind the public library on Fleming st at the wee hours of the morning on orange sunshine when the back of the library was heavily wooded and peaceful. we went there for solitude, peace and safety and had our cozy little hide out spot. We woke up with the sun and headed to white street pier and bottle rest beach now heavily populated Atlantic blvd full of condos for a fresh swim and to finish watching the sun bring in the day. our guitars and bongos allways at hand. those were the key west days. Wish you were here Lenny Perez jk and dear brother Jeffrey Dean. the solo strat piece by the drummer spirit of jimi was recorded in 1971 and sounds like a lost Hendrix recording and dedicated to Hendrix by Perez and dean. many other rare lions club recordings after hours are also on this tape. The funeral home garage recordings like all along the watchtower with Johnny king playing a very cool psychedelic guitar and wah pedal. Little wing has a beautiful guitar and vocal introduction to the song going into a very heavy loud guitar garage sound. There is a very cool hendrix up from the skies. all three Hendrix tracks have a nice heavy wah wah guitar and psychedelic garage sound from all three instruments. A lot of very spiritual meditation sounds like the cut inner trance different from the prism of soul inner trance, with Johnny kings vocals om om leading into a Indian style guitar and drums with beautiful cymbals. and finally going into an explosive psychedelic guitar and drums then flowing into an acid laden purple microdots like the peak of a trip you come back to reality with wake up little Susie. Spoken echo effects on valley of darkness several heav fuzz bass tracks out of it and overseas railroad express. The cd winds down with spirit of Jimi to end inner trance. what a trip inner trance is said by Pauli Walterson drummer of the original cave men line up. Johnny king plays a monster hair raising psychedelic wah wah acid guitar on prism of souls dancing in the paramid with deans heavy drum rolls ending the song like going into the sunset. deans drums on the prism of soul cut are incredible there is a drum roll that moves my pant cuffs in front of the speaker. Right before it goes into an almost break in the center like whole lotta love with nice little Cymble taps and hi hat and echoing guitar then ending with another of deans drum rolls into the sunset. The prism of soul lp cover with the three members standing in front of the psychedelic eye on the porch of 522 Elizabeth st key west fl was painted by Terry Afro Clark in 1972. Mike skoglund owner of the house had to say good buy due to health problems and moved up to Gainesville to be with his daughter Sophia and grand children he had to let go of the house a couple years back and the front porch psychedelic eye was sanded away and is gone forever. We called it the hippie house in our youth and all us band members rented rooms at one time or another over the years. It was heaven to us. The miles away lp I think is very underrated not jazz to these ears only the first track on the b side gave it that rap. part of me the jazzy track that was used as a filler and used when playing some of the clubs it was never meant to be on the lp miles away lp. The whole lp is full of reverb and has a nice psych edge to it. topaz shows the greatfull dead style guitar drum and bass jams the band loved playing. space jam on miles away reminds me of if 6 was 9 by Hendrix. Johnny king had a dream in the sugarloaf key studio the night before going to criteria and woke Perez and dean 4 in the morning turn on the equipment fast I just heard the guitar part we have been looking for in a dream hurry get the amps on before I forget it humming the notes and playing them on his Gibson SG guitar before the amp was even on. I’m talking about the short fantastic little guitar solo in the middle of space jam straight from a dream it is other worldly. Still give me chills almost 46 years later. he remembered every note from the dream it allways was meant to be Johnny. time delay is an almost Scottish Irish psychedelic sound.
