Description
BLUE NOTE MONO VINYL PRESSING!
Up for auction is a beautiful MONO PRESSING of Jimmy Smith's hard bop classic, Back at the Chicken Shack (Blue Note BLP 4117). All characteristics of an original Blue Note pressing are present, as per the Discogs link below: Plastylite 'ear' P symbol and 'VAN GELDER' stamp are both present in the runout deadwax on both sides, with NEW YORK USA labels. I have fully play-tested the vinyl, so my grading is based on how the record actually sounds, as well as how it looks.
Vinyl is strictly graded in Excellent condition: visually there are a number of wispy hairline-type marks (which I've tried to reflect in the photo section), but as can often be the case with these original Blue Notes, they have no impact on the audio experience - the record plays without any discernible background noise beyond the odd isolated tick. Having played the album in full, it sounds clear and loud throughout, being another exceptionally well-recorded album by Rudy Van Gelder!
The laminated, dimpled cover is strictly graded in strong Excellent condition, with a couple of tiny corner dings the only flaws - a beautiful example.

Note that I separate the vinyl from the outer sleeve for postage to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me, and in the way I'd like to receive them.
