Description

This is my personal copy of John Marty's legendary self-issued 'Live At Leeds' LP from 1975.
As can be seen from the pictures the sleeve is signed and numbered.
The sleeve itself is creased - actually by Royal Mail when they tried to fit it through a letter box in 1975 when I bought it. The LP was, naturally, rendered useless by this action, but I kept the sleeve and was kindly send a replacement LP by John Martyn. In the days when communication was less immediate (and, to be honest, JM's potential reaction to the situation deemed to be unpredictable) it seemed to be the best way of solving the problem. The spine is in excellent condition with no undue wear.
The LP itself is in its original inner sleeve, and is in excellent condition. I've graded it EX mostly because of its age and because it has been played, albeit always on good quality equipment, but it is probably closer to NM. The vinyl is bright, and although there are a few light marks on the vinyl, but these do not affect the play quality, and it plays perfectly with only the faintest of noise on the quietest parts.
Although it was a replacement, the LP has the original limited edition runout stampings of ILPS 9343 A-1 and ILPS 9343 B-3
While the starting price for this auction might appear high, the starting price is effectively the reserve price. On a higher value item such as this I think it is more fair to let potential buyers know they stand as far as reserve is concerned.
It will be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery in specialist packing.
