Johnny Cash Sun Promo Record # 241 - (w/Red "Sample" Stamp) VERY RARE !!!!
In 1952 Memphis businessman, Sam Phillips, founded the Sun Record label. Four years later, and not more languishing in obscurity, Sam encountered what would be one of his great later new discovery - One of Elvis Presley's other music friends J. R. Cash. To promote this talent, Sam recorded and then distributed again promo records to various radio stations. These records he hand-stamped, “SAMPLE” (in red, generally on the label) and then dispensed in a paper wrap. In all, Phillips produced 20 (!!) different Johnny Cash 45 rpm's. Today, any one of these is in alarmingly scant supply and very valuable.
Cash's 3rd sun record issue Sun 241 with number at the middle centered in fine condition as super rare original from 1956. Both sides of this record " plays great & through" with loud music and the very low regular later sun issue backround hiss. This is a super rare promo, also stamped "SAMPLE" on the B side and is in very collectable condition.
Condition Record -- Vg++ -- RECORD "PLAYS GREAT AND THROUGH" ON BOTH SIDES WITH NO JUMPS OR SKIPS.
The record is flat, no warped.
This is an original copy of the 1956 Johnny Cash 45 "Walk The Line" b/w "Get Rhythm", Sun 241. This is a real Sun 45 from april 1956, a first pressing issue. Today very hard to find as sample in this fine condition !
I have chosen not to "deep clean" by all my records - as the most buyer may have a own more effective method.
No more needs to be said. Absolute original from 1956 and comes in the vintage radio station marked card board sleeve.
EXTRA NOTE: "Push Marks" are NOT present here!! the last issue was sun #230, with push marks !
condition labels : - like shown here- GREAT Gloss = Vg++, but shows very tiny regular age wear. it's 53 years old now !
