Description

Collectible 1978 Canadian First Pressing featuring the alternative portrait cover, the famous label misprint, and elite Capitol dual-engineer deadwax signatures! Up for sale is a highly sought-after original Canadian pressing of Kate Bush’s iconic 1978 debut masterpiece, The Kick Inside. Unlike the standard UK "Kite" artwork, this North American release features the alternative cover portrait of Kate clutching her hair. This is the genuine 1978 first issue on the classic green/yellow Harvest Records label, featuring the famous uncorrected center label misprint for Track A5, which reads "The Man With A Child In His Eyes" (substituting "The" with "A").

Condition Details:Vinyl Media (VG): The vinyl is in very good glossy condition. It shows a few minor, faint paper scuffs under bright light that do not affect playback. It plays beautifully with clear, dynamic audio and minimal background noise. No skips, jumps, or deep scratches.
Run-Out Groove Matrix Details (Genuine Hybrid Pressing): This copy features the elite dual-engineer "split master" deadwax details, proving it was cut from premium original 1978 master lacquers at Capitol's Hollywood facility.
Side 1: Hand-etched "KP" alongside the Capitol Records Target Logo symbol, mastered by the legendary Ken Perry.
Side 2: Hand-etched "Wayne D." alongside his famous signature flower petal symbol, mastered by Wayne Dailey.
Both Sides: Machine-stamped with "MASTERED BY CAPITOL".
Jacket / Outer Sleeve (VG): Structurally solid and intact with no seam splits, tears, or writing. It shows some light, honest ring wear on the front and back, along with minor creasing along the edges, mainly on rear. (Please see photos).
Inner Sleeve: Includes the original, plain white inner sleeve just as it was originally purchased back in 1978, slightly worn.
Labels: Crisp and clean Harvest labels with minimal spindle marks.

📦 Shipping & Packaging:The record will be safely removed from the outer jacket prior to packing to prevent any seam splits during transit. It will be securely shipped in a professional, stiff cardboard record mailer with extra cardboard stiffeners for maximum protection.
