Description
For sale here the album box set titled 'Beethoven Fidelio', played by The Philharmonia Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Otto Klemperer.
This is an original UK pressing, on the Green/Silver Stereo Columbia label.
Cat # is SAX 2570
The condition is fantastic, all three of the discs must grade Near Mint, and that is only because I don’t use the grade Mint. I found one single ultra light wisp on one of the discs, that's it, I did not however find a single trace of spindle ware on any of the 6 labels! It’s about the best you could wish to find, it has been well looked after and if any of them have been played, it's been done with the utmost of care. I genuinely thing you would struggle to find any better.
The poly-lined EMI inner sleeves are all in excellent condition, with no rips or tears and just some mild creasing as you would expect.
The box cover is again very clean and tidy, it has been stored properly and as a result there is virtually no significant wear or damage, and as a result I'll grade it as Excellent. Overall there's just a couple of areas of very light storage wear. There is a little bumping to three of the four corners which has caused the black covering to come away and the card to show through, the worst of which I have attempted to photograph and show above. Nothing structurally dubious at all, and the weak spine is in excellent shape, with all print clear and no splitting of the join between the box and the lid. The paste-on type front image is in fantastic condition, with no curling or damage to the edges, just some very slight rubbing from storage against other record covers. The gold "Stereophonic EMI Recording" sticker is also resplendent in the top right hand corner.
All my sales begin with a start price of 99p, which is not in any way a reflection of what you are bidding on, which is a top quality, accurately described rarity which would grace any collection. Thank you for viewing.
Rest assured this record will be packed properly, a card outer mailer along with bubble wrap around the box and padding inside will be used for posting to avoid damage in transit.
I will post worldwide, but please ignore the amount that eBay have forced me to quote as it will depend on where the album is going, please contact me for an estimate.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I’ll do my best to reply as soon as possible.
