LED ZEPPELIN -

2  (II)

ATLANTIC

1st UK Press 1969

588198

First press matrices A//6  B//4 with the earliest stampers: 1  1 1 2 and 1 1  1 3.

This copy is quite rare for having "Killing Floor" on the label.

Featuring cover art Terry Gilliam would be proud of, all things dark and light move up two gears powering the hovering Zeppelin into overdrive. I can't begin to guess how they worked in the studio, but being mid-1969 I can still see them as a disciplined bunch much to the disgust of critics who tried to trip them up on any atomic particle they could sniff at. Punchy, stinging, echo fed riffing by Jimmy Page on its headbutt in the mouth opening notes clarify that rock as a standout genre had just found new paymasters, their willing debauchery only outweighed by talent and innovations the devil himself would sell his soul for. Pop - the smug sexist yet wholly lovable 'Living Loving Maid', joyous and ironic folk rock - 'Ramble On', and side-alley con job fury - 'Heartbreaker'; all sweet revenge for that Hindenburg incident.(From: rateyourmusic.com)

Vinyl: EX.  Great heavy first UK press vinyl . A beautiful heavy glossy vinyl.  Two hairline traces on side 2, wispy and not feelable. Otherwise just paper retraction type traces which are only visible under a strong light and angled. And the sound is just stunning. Only a first press heavy vinyl can ever sound like that. Under a strong light only the very lightest wispy retraction paper traces can be seen. Any LP will have this as soon as they are taken out of its sleeve. These are totally invisible in normal light.  This sounded better than any re-issue like only a first press can. Lovely channel separation without any distortion. The hairline traces cannot be heard at all bar two low level pops, and that's all. Needless to say, NO skips, NO jumps, barely any background noise etc. Sublime ...

Gatefold sleeve:  VG++ to EX.  This gatefold sleeve is renowned for being worse for wear. Most copies you will find will have extensive discolouring and general wear. This copy is one of the best I have ever found. The colours are still very bright and there is NO damage , there are NO creases bar the small thumb crease on the opening or writing and most of all there is no staining. The spine is 100% legible. The top and bottom edges have very light storage wear. The opening is still crisp without any feathering. Of course NO split, NO tears etc. More from this wonderful collection will be listed in the near future. It still has its original blue printed inner sleeve which is poly lined.

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!  PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST,  if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one!  I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem!  This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees  and lower priority in the bid lists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem.  Thanks again!!

This an excellent investment opportunity!!! Any questions please ask me and I will try to answer soon.
