Description
It is now well known that this is the holy grail of Led Zeppelin Vinyl with only approx 2000 pressed of this very first of first pressings with the A//1 B//1 matrix with the Turquoise sleeve Atlantic 588171 and that mint copies book at £1500 but have recently sold on eBay for a lot more
Last month one sold for an amazing £7000
Unfortunately this copy is not in mint condition and the sleeve is worn and and although complete has some staining as seen on the pictures so I would only grade it as Good
The Vinyl however I would grade as Very Good as although it has obviously been played many times it displays no major deterioration of sound quality and plays with no problems right through with the deep rich sound only heard on the early plum label pressings
In summary if you want to own a classic piece of rock history and one of the most sought after albums across the globe with all the provenance of an original first pressing which actually plays well at an affordable investment price then good luck bidding
Any questions please ask Just to confirm this is the very very first pressing with the legendary UK turquoise sleeve - the most highly-prized UK rarity - For a very brief period this very first pressing was released to the market. This copy carries the label credits Superhype Music / Jewel Music. The run out groove has the matrix number 588 171 A1 clearly stamped with no alteration (Later pressings of the album carry a matrix run-out groove that has an 8 scratched over) - The item listed here is therefore the most sought after by collectors across the world.
