Red/Plum Label ('Wreck' credit)
Vinyl: VG+. This rare and collectible 'Wreck' pressing plays with excellent audio overall but with some very light background noise in places, mainly on the dead wax between tracks on S1. S2 in particular is absolutely stunning with very little 'background'. It has a few faint hairlines but these do not affect the audio to any great extent at all. As per the genuine first pressings it has the rare 'Livin' Lovin' Wreck' credit on the label as well as the 'The Lemon Song' credit of course which was soon discovered as a miss print and replaced with the correct 'Maid' wording. It has the 'Copyright Control' publishing credits rather than the 'Warner Bros/Jewel Music' which is on the later pressings. It also has very low 'stampers' and is one of the earliest first pressings. Matrices and mother stampers: 588198 // A ^ 2 // 1 1 3 588198 // B ^ 2 // 1 1 The audio on S1 is Ex (Ex+ in many sections / track 1 VG for 15 seconds / t3 VG for one minute / t4 EX) The audio on S2 is EX for most of the duration with just very minimal background noise mainly between some tracks.
Gatefold sleeve: VG/VG+. The gatefold sleeve is fully intact with just light creases on the opening. It does have storage edge wear on all sides. Ring wear to the rear but the inside gatefold is EX++. There are NO tears and there is NO writing or defacing of any kind. NO seam splits etc. This is the original very light brown tinged sleeve as only came with this miss printed LP. all later ones are medium brown/auburn coloured.
Overall this is a very good example of this very rare classic miss print that is now 50 years of age and unless you want to pay top dollar it is more than acceptable.
