Description
Led Zeppelin III gatefold sleeve lp.
Released by Atlantic in 1970, catalogue number 2401002
This is the rare 1st pressing which feature:-
Unbroken catalogue number 2401002 on the centre label (later releases had a space in the middle of the catalogue number).
The centre label has 'Produced by Jimmy Page' and 'Executive Producer: Peter Grant' text.
The inside of the gatefold sleeve is a slightly different design to the more traditional later gatefold sleeves.
A-5 / B-5 run out matrixes with 'do what thou wilt' etched on side 1 runout and 'so mote it be' etched on side 2 runout.

I would describe the record and cover as both being in overall very good condition as per the Record Collector grading system.
I believe the inner sleeve to be the original.
Firstly the record. Visually a few minor light marks. Side 1 has very good play quality with the sound strong and clear. Just a little background noise in a couple of the quiter places. As a rating I would give side one 9 out of 10.
On side 2, there is a click at the start and about 30 seconds of background noise on Gallows Pole until it gets to the louder part. Sound quality on the rest is again very good with a little background noise in just a couple of other quiter places. I would rate side two as 8 plus out of 10.
Nice, clean red / maroon centre labels.
All in all a very nice listen and if you do disagree with my description I'm more than happy to refund the cost of the record, subject to return.
The outer gatefold sleeve is in very good condition. Very good spine. Fully working, rotating wheel.
As an honest overall score for the item, I would confidently say 9 out of 10 on side 1 and 8 out of 10 on side 2.
