Description
My record player has long gone and these albums have been in storage for a long time, I only play cd,s these days and I,ve decided to sell all my vinyl albums from the late sixties to the 70/80,s.I will be listing a few at a time time permitting, keep a look out there are quite a few rare albums.
LED ZEPPELIN III Atlantic red/plum 1970, cat. no. 2401002. 1st pressing EARLY ISSUE
This is a VERY EARLY issue of this album with the " PETER GRANT uncorrected credit on the label.Once they realised it was immediately corrected with Peter Grant being completely deleted. Consequently these VERY EARLY uncorrected examples are VERY RARE INDEED.
Also this album has the Cat No. as 2401002 signifying a very early issue as the later ones had a hyphon added ie 2401-002.
Vinyl cat no 2401002 matrix Side one, "do what thou wilt" 2401002 A5 etched in run off. Side two, "so mote it be" 2401002 B5 etched in run off.
Vinyl still retains high lustre sheen in really great condition. This album has obviously been very well looked with only very light hairlines being seen under a strong light. EXCELLENT + CONDITION.
Labels are UNMARKED with no spindle wear.
The original polylined inner sleeve with the "plastic bags can be dangerous" warning.
The original E.J. Day gatefold sleeve is in EXCELLENT + condition with the front wheel operating fully, no spine wear or edge wear and no writing. If it was,nt for some discoloration on top of the sleeve I would have graded it NEAR Mint.It is that good.
Most of these albums are long gone and the few that are left most of those have been heavily used
A VERY RARE ALBUM IN EXCEPTIONAL ORIGINAL CONDITION.
It will be sent in strong cardboard mailers the best I have come accross.
To be sold with NO RESERVE.
Non Uk bidders to make contact with me prior to placing bid for shipping etc.
Postage outside the UK is extra and bidders must contact me for charges.
To clarify matters this is a VERY EARLY FIRST PRESSING I HAVE LOOKED INTO THIS AND THE TELLTALE SIGNS "the Peter Grant credit and the non hyphen cat no. confirm it.
A VERY RARE ALBUM AND EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND.
A real find for LED ZEPPELIN collectors.
