Description
LIGHTNIN' HOPKINS - "Walkin' This Road By Myself"
Original USA pressing on BLUESVILLE (Prestige) Records. Recorded/ released in 1962. Lightnin' went electric and took his Texas Blues to a bit of the Chicago sound, with drummer Spider Kilpatrick, blues harp/harmonica player Billy Bizor, and pianist Buster Pickens.
Labels are VG++.
Record is between VG and VG+, visually graded. It has almost full original gloss and only a moderate amount of light scuffs/surface scratches. As old Blues LPs some would call it VG+ but using the same strict grading I use across the board it falls a little short. Hence, not quite VG+ but better than VG.
Cover is overall VG++. Front looks almost NM. No splits on seams or spine, which are good and strong. The only flaw is on back, the back slick at top needs gluing in a couple places where it's come loose (and therefore has small tears). Non-laminated back also shows slight soiling from age. A more-than-decent copy.
Comes on original Prestige inner sleeve with same Bergenfield NJ address as on labels. This has a big torn-off corner but is still cooler than putting a new plain sleeve on it!
All records are original USA pressings - not recent reissues - unless noted. Check out our Grading / Condition info. NM (Near Mint) is usually my highest grade. Labels are NM unless noted; and item has no writing, stamps, stickers, drillholes, or other noteworthy defects unless specifically noted or shown in photos otherwise.
