Description
Arhoolie F-1004, “Lil’ Son Jackson” from 1960. This is the original pressing of this LP with the half-black, half-maroon label and the Los Gatos address. The vinyl plays at NM with virtually no background sound. The jacket is close to NM with solid seams all around, no ringwear, writing or stamps; there is one corner bump at lower right which can easily be ignored. The one-page descriptive notes are slightly age-toned. Tracks include "Blues Come to Texas", "Cairo Blues" (made famous by Henry Townsend), "Ticket Agent", "Louise", "Sugar Mama", "Girl I Love", "Santa Fe Blues", "Turn Your Lamp Down Low", "Groundhog Blues", "Gambler Blues", "Charley Cherry" (2 takes), "West Dallas Blues", "Rollin' Mill Went Down", "Red River Blues", and "Roberta". See scan for track listing. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $20.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, I strongly recommend registered mail for $12.00 extra. Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be caught in a postal conveyor belt and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window with no damage to LP or jacket. More than two LPs may be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
