PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER).  OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.


Chicago soul seemed to occupy its own niche back in the 1970s.  Grittier than Philly but smoother than its southern contemporaries, this track encapsulates the genre.  An ULTRA RARE metal acetate most likely from 1969 with A Little Misunderstanding on the B-side!!!  Bamboo Records just couldn't make up their minds what to do with A Little Misunderstanding.  It was released as an A-side AND a B-side several times in the same year, 1969 (with Got To Be Love on the flip on all of them).  They must have toyed with the idea of You Me & Him on the B-side for this release but ultimately decided to shelve it as this song doesn't show up anywhere on the entire internet and has certainly never come up for sale.  I've been collecting voraciously for 40+ years and I've never seen another, nor have any northern soul collectors I know.  A GORGEOUS string-drenched mid-tempo Chicago groover perfect for the dance floor so don't sleep as this is most likely the only one in existence.  If you've never seen it before you'll never see it again.  This one will make every one of your northern soul collector friends (or competitors) jealous.  There are 3 very small flake spots on the extreme outer edge before the grooves in the dead wax start and one tiny spot at around the 0:28 mark that is only audible for a few seconds.  Plays great.
