Clean original issue private jazz LP which fuses the American artform of modern jazz with Middle Eastern rhythms, melodies and modes. Tunes such as Indo-European Improvisations on side 2 are what the fusion of jazz & oriental music is all about.

Lloyd Miller spent much of the '60s and '70s in Iran studying Middle Eastern music. A respected and highly-decorated scholar, he has taught for much of his life at the University of Utah. During the '60s he formed his East-West record label on which he recorded his music and sold records to his students so they might be educated and entertained at the same time.

Now then. This LP is the follow-up LP to Jazz at the U of U which gained a formal release and proper sleeve. This is Volume 2, and is VERY rare, only very few copies exist. If you think Miller's LP masterpiece Oriental Jazz is rare (only 500 copies made) then think again as to the rarity of this album as there are probably even less copies than that. It has not even been assigned a label name. No proper sleeve was made, but some copies have a b/w photocopy pic glued onto the front of a plain white stock jacket, this one doesn't (see pic). BTW, I know all this because I called Lloyd Miller himself and he set me straight.

Record is VG++ (very clean, would be NM if not for some light surface marks made by the record passing in and out of the inner sleeve, plays great too)

Sleeve is VG++ (has some minor wear - see pic - but it's just a stock white sleeve anyway so you can just replace it with another if you want).
