This collection of 2 rare vinyl’s plus 7 CDs and DVDs of Miller’s very best works over the past 5 decades and The Best Works of Dr. Lloyd Miller: an 8 GB flashdrive of 1 hours WMV videos and over 12 hours MP3 files, over 1,000 pages of informative writings in 4 PDF books plus 200 JPGs of photos and news articles. The package includes Miller's famous Oriental Jazz LP as a gift.
This LP was recorded in the 1960s mostly taken from a KBYU TV program added to multi-track cuts personally recorded by French Jazz master Jef Gilson in Paris in 1960 and other gems of jazz by Miller in the 1960s. Less than a total of 500 of the Oriental Jazz LP were pressed. Included in the collection is a DVD of some of the original TV broadcasts done in the 1960s and 1970s at KBYU, KUED and NIRTV in Tehran featuring Lloyd Miller with a variety of musicians. Also included is a CD of the original recordings from the same broadcasts. Among these are two CDs of Miller’s work in the early 1960s in Europe with Jef Gilson, Swedish jazz greats and his International Jazz Quartet at the famed Rose Noire in Brussels. Dr. Lloyd Miller, who is still performing weekly, wants you to have these rare gems while he is still alive at 78 and will autograph the LP jacket if requested. The Oriental Jazz LP is in perfect condition with possible slight imperfections in the label and jacket and were extras sent by Wakefield Records in Arizona; thus a nice gift from Dr. Miller.

Lloyd Miller was one of the original innovators of the Oriental Jazz concept recently enjoying a revival due to significant radio airplay throughout Europe by DJ's such as Gilles Peterson in London. Dr. Lloyd Miller first went to Iran in 1957 and returned for an extended stay of seven years beginning with a Fulbright scholarship in the 1970s. This resulted in the publication of Music and Song in Persia: The Art of Avaz by Curzon Press, London and Afghan Music and Dance by Eastern Arts..
After spending many years in Europe during the late 1950s and early 1960s where he performed with and influenced Don Ellis, worked with Eddie Harris, Jef Gilson (was soloist and featured on Gilson's first 10" LP), Freddie Deronde, Jaques Pelzer, Lennart Jansson, Lars Färnlof, Peter Trunk and Albert Mangelsdorf, among others, he returned to the US to continue creating East West jazz blends.
