Mega Rare Original LONGBRANCH / PENNYWHISTLE LP
AMOS RECORDS AAS 7007
This is the Self-Titled and only release by Longbranch / Pennywhistle, which consisted of J.D. SOUTHER and GLEN FREY who later went on to form THE EAGLES. This is an Original Stereo pressing from 1969 on the long out-of-print Amos record label. This has a great Rural Psych Rock sound. In addition to this being Souther and Frey’s pre-Eagles release, it also features help from session heavy weights JAMES BURTON, RY COODER, LARRY KNECTAL, BUDDY EMMONS, JOE OSBORNE, JAMES GORDON and DOUG KERSHAW!
The gatefold cover is in outstanding condition and has always been kept in a plastic outer sleeve. It looks great and has very little surface wear, along with no seam or spine splitting, no tears, and no writing. There is a very small amount of wear on the bottom seams but nothing even close to a split. Inside the gatefold also looks wonderful and has the lyrics to all the songs along with a list of the musicians who contributed to this album. The record shows surface marking & scuffing and light scratches, although most of this does not appear to go very deep into the playing grooves. It plays with some surface noise and some crackling. All LPs come packaged carefully in a sturdy corrugated box made specifically for mailing LPs plus a cardboard insert. The covers are placed in clear plastic record sleeves. The vinyl is removed from the cover (except for SEALED items) for shipping to prevent seam splitting during shipment.
