Superb copy of very rare First STEREO issue of the famous Jean-Max Clement recording of the Bach Suites (UK Wideband Groove Decca-pressed LPs) - plays NM, effectively as new, sleeve EX. Amazing cello sound and presence.
NOTE this is the original first UK issue in the gatefold sleeve, not the the later 1970s reissue (individually-sleeved OLS 133 and 134).
PLEASE NOTE - you are bidding on original 1960s vinyl this plays perfectly all way through it sounds just amazing
- UK Decca-pressed L'Oiseau-Lyre stereo double LP set SOL 60016-17 from 1960.
- Very first UK issue, wide band groove pressing, equivalent to ED1.
- 1M/1M/1M/1M pressings, and "automatic couplings": sides 1&4 on SOL 60016, sides 3&4 on SOL 60017
- Bach Six Suites for Solo Cello
- Played by Jean-Max Clement.
- Both vinyl appears NM, good gloss, flat, looks hardly played under strong light, just the very lightest sleeve removal marks and faint hairlines, none affect sound.
- Fully play-tested all four sides NM. Superb "Golden-Age" Decca recording and reproduction, really excellent atmospheric and clear sound quality, no background noise and quiet surfaces. No defects, no wear or distortion, superb performance and wonderful recording.
- Labels NM, just one or two spindle trails visible on each side.
- Condition of unlaminated matt surface "top-loader" gatefold sleeve is EX- just a very tiny tear to bottom of spine approx 4mm and some light creasing
- Original red heavyweight paper poly-lined "Stereophonic Record" inner sleeves NM
- 1M matrixes
