I decided to sell some off my personal collection. At the time of each listing, I am giving a listen to both sides (testing) and add a bit of the listening details you just can’t see in pictures. Nothing worse than putting out money and hearing a nasty skip when you get a chance to give it a spin. This is what my main focus is going to be. I’m also happy to provide more pics upon request and answer any questions. I’m not a pro, I do most research on Discogs and sometimes I still don’t understand what exact pressing or from what plant my copy is from.
Kickin’ it today as I give one last spin and list it here on eBay. Not perfect but very nice overall. Let me explain. The inner sleeve has no tears or edge breaking. Lies flat and it’s good enough to have framed. The 8 pannel gatefolded cover/jacket happens to be its own worst enemy, I doubt there is such a thing as perfect. Through production and distribution this monstrosity production just says ding me and indent me, scratch me and scuff me. This copy is pleasing to the eye but in a raking light, you can see some staining in the lower left front cover. Likely happens while it was still in shrink and it looks like some liquid/moisture worked itself around in that area. You can’t feel anything to the touch and it’s barely noticeable. There are small indentations, scuffs, dings, rubs, , but like I said it still screams well cared for. I’ve owned it many years and I think this is my first time playing it and paying close attention. It has no skipping, no pops, however there is a sound of static throughout on both sides. It’s very manageable. And I bet a brand new copy makes the same sounds. My guess is a cleaning would be beneficial. The vinyl, while nearly perfect, exhibits a few small scuffs and one light scratch (see last photo),but otherwise clean. I take a bunch of pics and I try to focus on the imperfections. This item is better than money and has a better value that will continue to keep pace. OG Beastie Boys vinyl doesn’t come out of an ATM like them twenties, money is easy to get, this copy will take only $300 and you will be happier as a result of it.
