Description

Led Zeppelin’s first magnificent album, catalogue No. 588171 on the Atlantic Red/Plum label. An great example of this original 1969 UK FIRST PRESSING. As with all these early Zeppelin pressings the power they got into those grooves is astonishing ! This recording has a tremendous power and presence that surges out of the speakers and hits you like the Hammer Of The Gods !! The glossy heavyweight vinyl has a few marks most of which do not affect the audio quality. There is a little surface crackle apparent in some of the quieter sections and a few (and I do mean few) clicks in ‘Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You’, ‘ I Cant Quit You Babe’ and the beginning of the quiet organ intro on ‘Your Time Is Gonna Come’. Apart from that It plays beautifully, the sonic assault of ‘Communication Breakdown’ with Page’s scorching, stella solo !! The sheer awesome power of ‘Dazed And Confused’ and the acoustic ‘Black Mountain Side’, really is something special when you hear it with this kind of clarity !! There is NO DISTORTION !! And not forgetting the sometimes overlooked 8 minute epic ‘How Many More Times’, they all come pounding out at you !! I would grade the vinyl as EXCELLENT-. The Sleeve is most definitely in EXCELLENT+ CONDITION, with only a very few small creases and NO SPLITS OR TEARS. It displays no ring wear at all and there is NO WEAR on ANY of the edges or the spine. The record comes with its ORIGINAL INNER SLEEVE which is also in EXCELLENT+ condition. Matrices of course, are A1 and B1. A great example of  this seminal album !!
